Dr. Liv Skincare was silently created with only one product, exclusively available to the patients of Dr. Liv's Skin Longevity Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland. The secret soon came out - that the approach of Dr. Liv Kraemer broke with the convention of the skincare industry. Dr. Liv wanted her patients to do less - not more - while helping them achieve the healthiest, best looking skin they ever had. This is why in 2022, her skincare brand became available to everyone.

What's the secret? A deep understanding of how skin works.

Dr. Liv Kraemer

Dr. Liv, a Berlin native, started her scientific career working in stem cell research (Columbia University, NY), genetics and tissue engineering. Over time, her curiosity for the body's biggest organ grew. 100 years have passed since an entrepreneur pioneered mass market skincare - yet our skin ages the same, skin cancer is on the rise and we still seem to struggle with the same skin issues as our parents.

Dr. Liv Skin Longevity Clinic

Driven by patient's insights

After becoming a board-certified dermatologist with focus on skin longevity and skincare ingredients, she opened her skin longevity clinic in Zurich in 2013. What she witnessed was patients using too many products, complex routines, and not seeing any results. Her method was born - taking her patients on a journey to understand how skin truly works - and empowering them to get the skin they wish for.

FAQ

Is your skincare suitable for mature skin?
A plus icon to show more content.

Absolutely! My skincare line is designed to cater for all skin, including mature skin. The use of the right active ingredients ensures that regardless of age we can stimulate the creation of new skin cells and promote collagen production. As I like to say - we can't stop skin's ageing but we can learn how to postpone it and ensure the skin barrier is strong and healthy.

I have sensitive skin - can I use your products?
A plus icon to show more content.

Yes! My products are hypoallergenic and have been formulated with the most sensitive skin in mind. As a disclaimer, it is normal to experience mild breakouts when first getting started with active ingredients such as fruitacids (AHA), as they stimulate skin cell turnover and bring stubborn pimples to the surface of the skin. This initial reaction will, however, subside.

Are your products safe to use in pregnancy and during breastfeeding?
A plus icon to show more content.

It is generally advised not to use active ingredients (AHA, BHA, Retinol,..) during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, the Day Shield and Biome Barrier are suitable to use as they do not contain cell turnover boosting actives and instead help keep the skin barrier in shape (Biome Barrier) and protect it from external damage (Day Shield). The use of an SPF is important during pregnancy to avoid hyperpigmentation. If you feel uncertain, it is always advised to consult your doctor regarding your concerns.

Is your skincare suitable for teenagers?

For teenage skin I recommend keeping skincare as simple as possible. Using the Smoothing Cleanser to clean the skin as well as gently nudging the cell turn over, and applying sunscreen daily (e.g. Day Shield) would be sufficient.

Is your skincare suitable for men?
A plus icon to show more content.

Absolutely - as I like to say, "skin is skin". When it comes to men, the only thing to keep in mind is shaving. For that I would recommend always using active ingredients such Fruitacid before shaving to avoid a burning sensation.

Can I combine your products with those I already use?
A plus icon to show more content.

Our products can be incorporated into your existing skincare routine. However, it's important to be mindful of the active ingredients in your skincare products and how to combine them (for instance, using AHA and Retinol on the same night is a no-go). Please note that our products are specifically developed to provide optimal results when used as intended within our minimalist system, as we can only ensure that the active ingredients within our products interact well together. While they can complement other products, we cannot guarantee that the outcomes of combining them with your current routine will be as satisfying as following our recommended skincare regimen.
