How to use

After completing your LEVEL I (Warm-Up) routine with the Overnight Smoother, start integrating LEVEL II: Turnover Optimizer gradually just in the evening.

1. Start Phase:
Replace the Overnight Smoother once a week (e.g., Monday) with the Turnover Optimizer.

2. Build Phase:
After 2 weeks, use it twice a week (e.g., Monday & Friday).

3. Max Phase:
Increase up to 3 times a week (e.g., Monday, Wednesday & Friday). → On all other days, continue with the Overnight Smoother (AHA) as part of LEVEL I.

Always remember:

The 'driving' effect of retinol, that deeper push for your skin, usually becomes noticeable about 4 days later. So if you apply it on Monday, you’ll feel it by Friday. That’s your skin training in action.

Important:
Always follow with the Day Shield SPF 30 in the morning. If dryness or redness occurs, reduce frequency or pause. Never combine Turnover Optimizer and Overnight Smoother on the same night. Never use it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Why does my skin suddenly break out after using the Smoothing Cleanser?

It's quite common to experience this phenomenon, so there's no need to be alarmed. When you begin your skincare journey with our Smoothing Cleanser, your skin will be exposed to active ingredients that stimulate skin cell turnover. It can happen that you experience a temporary breakout, as skin cell turnover accelerates and impurities come to the surface. Typically, after about two weeks (varying from person to person), these initial breakouts should subside, and you'll begin to notice positive changes in your skin's appearance.

Can I use the Smoothing Cleanser when I use Retinol?

Yes, it's safe to use the Smoothing Cleanser while using Retinol. The Smoothing Cleanser is the first step of your routine to cleanse the face, while Retinol is considered a TREAT step product to be applied in second stage.

Yes, the Overnight Smoother can be applied to dry skin. The Overnight Smoother boosts cell turnover, which aids to gently remove dead skin cells (dry skin), leaving you with more vivid skin. However, if your skin feels excessively dry, you can use the Biome Barrier to help relieve this sensation.

We generally advise our clients not to use any products containing active ingredients during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Since the Smoothing Cleanser contains active ingredients such as AHA and BHA, it is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Can I use retinol all year round?

Retinoids like retinol and retinal can be used throughout the year – what’s essential is consistent sun protection in the morning. Day Shield SPF 30 protects the newly formed skin cells and helps prevent pigmentation issues.

What happens if I use the Retinol too often?

Overuse can lead to skin becoming sensitive, red, or dry. That’s why the guideline is: 1–3 times per week, never on consecutive nights, always followed by SPF the next morning. Use Biome Barrier if your skin needs calming.

Start with once a week and gradually increase to up to three times a week. Never use retinoids on the same night as AHAs (e.g. Overnight Smoother). If redness or dryness occurs, take a short break or apply a light moisturizer afterwards.
